Spindle-Bolt Fell Out or SnappedUpdated 3 months ago
Normally when we see this, it indicates the pinch-bolt on the crankarm was not tightened down properly prior to riding. This means the force of pedaling has been pushing laterally on the spindle-bolt, stripping/breaking it in the process. This wouldn't be something covered under a manufacturer's warranty policy, as this would be considered an assembly/maintenance error. Even parts that are pre-installed need to be checked/adjusted prior to riding. These bikes are not tuned at the manufacturing level and are only assembled enough for shipping purposes.
Over time, riding will loosen components and they need to be tightened up regularly. Ideally, the whole bike should be checked over each time you go out to ride.
For this, your best bet is to take your bike to a shop for inspection/maintenance.
